Peel the Nylon Skin
A large-scale video installation staged within a theatrical set resembling a domestic interior.
I have exaggerated makeup over a layer of nylon stretched across my face, creating a visible barrier that restricts expression and movement. The gesture reflects the pressure of internalized gender expectations and the ways women often participate in enforcing these roles onto themselves.
The work examines how femininity is constructed, performed, and regulated, questioning where self-determination begins and where social conditioning takes hold.
